About Us
Myers Livestock, owned by Will and Sarah Myers, is a small local producer operating in conjunction with a 5-generation family ranch, located south of Hayden along the Williams Fork River. We began our heard in 2015 from purchasing Hereford pairs from registered breeders in Wyoming and Colorado, and later purchased bred heifers from a long-time Routt County rancher. Since then, we’ve been keeping our own replacement heifers and buying local Hereford and Angus bulls. Will’s Grandparents raised and sold registered Hereford bulls, and while we still enjoy the docility and mothering instincts of the Hereford breed, we appreciate the vigor of the cross-breeds and sale prices of the Angus.
Practices
Our cattle summer at the family ranch on mountain pasture and winter and calve out at our place north of Craig. All our cattle are grass-fed, and the steers we sell for beef are free from antibiotics, vaccines and insecticides for at least six months prior to sale.

Our current offering of beef is from a 2-year-old Hereford steer. His grass diet was supplemented with some locally-produced protein pellets for about a month to help him make the transition from dry fall range to a diet of premium weed-free hay. I personally inspected a rib-eye steak and was pleasantly surprised to find just enough cap fat and marbling to enhance the flavoring of typical grass-fed beef. Overall, the beef should be 90-95 percent lean. I tried a sirloin steak and some burger and was impressed with the tenderness and mild flavor knowing this was a lean grass-fed steer.
