About Us
Stay at Home Chef has been in the Elk River Valley since 1999. First working at The Dutch Creek Guest Ranch at Steamboat Lake, and then gradually building her business into what it is today: a personal chef specializing in in-home catering for intimate groups. With over 40 years in the restaurant industry, Sharon has a lot of experience!
Sharon started canning as a girl with her mother Andrea in Maryland. Andrea had a bountiful garden, and many of Sharon’s recipes date back to those days growing up on Chesapeake Bay. Among them being “Mom’s Tomato Jam”, “ Pickled Corn Relish”, and “Watermelon Rind Pickles”.
Sharon is pleased to be offering these family recipes for pickles and jams, as well as some modern take- offs of the classics, for the first time as a Colorado Cottage Business. The selections will vary throughout the year as the markets inspire.
Sharon lives in the “Clark-tic Circle” with her husband Mike (chief bottle-washer), their hellion of a heeler, Phoebe, mouse-killer deluxe Gracie the Cat, 3 horses and a miniature mule.
