Hello

My name is Dave Merlina, founder of Bogey's Larder. I have been cooking for over 30 years and have been perfecting my craft in Colorado for over 25 of those years. Living here is such a privilege and I never take it for granted. Steamboat has given me so many wonderful opportunities. Starting a family and raising my two boys here has been one of the best gifts I could ask for. My career also blossomed here. I met the family I cook for now, over 18 years ago. I have met so many amazing people who have given me so many fantastic memories. And its here I started Bogey's Larder.
I grew up In Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn State with a degree in Restaurant Management. After graduation I headed to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY where I earned an associates degree in the Culinary Arts. After I graduated I moved to Colorado and worked In Aspen, first at the Little Nell Hotel and then at a restaurant called Pinons. I became the executive chef shortly after I started and it was there where I started to give my voice to the food I was preparing. After nearly 10 years in Aspen, I left to be a winery chef in CA. It was something new and exciting, and I loved my time there, but Colorado kept calling. Shortly after a year of being there, my wife at the time and I decided to move back to Colorado, specifically Steamboat. My first job was at a wine shop here in town and it was there that I met the family I cook for now. Because of the freedom they give me, I started my own little business selling my burnt Caramel sauce. I have been making it for many years and the reason why I love it so much is because it can pair nicely with savory and sweet foods. I have put my heart and soul into this sauce line and even named the company after my late dog, Bogey.
I hope you enjoy these sauces and let your imagination run wild when using them. I believe it can make any part of your meal more uniquely delicious and especially memorable.
