The Farm at Home Ranch is a thriving vegetable farm and egg operation on the larger Home Ranch, with a mission to sustainably feed the North Routt community and its visitors at the altitude of 7,200 feet. A beautiful complex of stunning gardens, new 4-season greenhouse, hoophouses, and orchard, the farm demonstrates how a high-country farm in Colorado can flourish with ingenuity, hard work and the singular vision of its energetic and inspired owners, the McFarlane family.

Our farming principles focus on minimizing non-organic inputs and working with our extreme climate instead of against it. While we are not certified organic, we follow organic and permaculture practices of soil fertility, cultivation, and integrated pest management. Our chickens and ducks are proudly free-range and fed a diet of conventional chicken feed and lots of fresh farm veggie scraps.
